Meadows Digital Analog Setworks
Meadows Mills is proud to introduce an exciting new setworks system available
for all new Meadows sawmills and retrofits to existing sawmills.

Display Panel and Keyboard with Operator's Instructions for quick reference
The leave-on settings offer the operator the convenience of selecting from up to 12 operator programmed dimensions eliminating the hassle of manual adjustment of the cant. For example, if a 5" cant is on the carriage but you wish to finish with a 4" cant, simply press the leave on programmed to 4" and the setworks will automatically adjust the headblocks to take the necessary slab cut, thus leaving the 4" cant on the carriage.
Up to 6 stack settings are available. The stacks allow the operator to program the overall dimension of the cant and each of the individual cuts to be made in that cant. For example, assuming a 15" cant, an overall dimension of 15" would be programmed. Next the dimensions of the individual cuts are programmed in the order to be cut. After the operator selects a stack, he only needs to press the set button between individual cuts.

Shim cut must often be made to finish on desired cant. |

The stack feature eliminates this shim by calculating all cuts with the saw kerf and putting the shim into the slab. This keeps you from wasting quality wood and will save you one pass on the carriage. |

The set button and the jog forward / reverse buttons are mounted on the feed control handle in operator's left hand. |
The temposonic rod is shown on Meadows #3 center dog sawmill headblock. For the #3 sawmill the rod is 44" in length. The length of the rod is divided into 10,000 individual units, providing for greater accuracy.
As the knee moves, the magnet moves along the temposonic rod. Based on the location of the magnet on the temposonic rod the setworks controller will display the opening of the knee in inches on the control display.
The temposonic rod will connect to the setworks controller by means of a three piece cable.
A hydraulic motor with a sprocket and chain drive to the set shaft controls the movement of the knees. On the #3 sawmill the hydraulic motor has a 9 tooth sprocket and the set shaft has a 45 tooth sprocket. The sprockets use a #60 chain.
